‘Legs up the Wall Pose’ (VIPARITA KARANI)

Good Afternoon friends! I hope this finds you all well. We are all well here … can you believe it is ONE MONTH until Christmas!

With the upcoming rush of the days and weeks ahead, I thought it was important to remind you of this Yoga pose I adore and do my best to commit to doing for 10 minutes each day. I KNOW life is hectic but this is just a gentle reminder to make the time for yourself – even if you do this directly before bed, the benefits are amazing and your body will hopefully thank you.

My friend Gina from “Nutrition by Gina Rose” has given me some great information to share with you about this pose. Gina is a Clinical Nutritionist based in Brisbane, with a special interest in women’s health and infant nutrition. Gina has a passion for health and wellness through the power of nature. She aims to educate and inspire women to feel wonderful and glow from the inside out. Gina has over 10 year experience in the health care industry and is a mother to 2 young children.

What’s going on in this pose?

Your femur bones are dropping into your hip sockets, relaxing the muscles that help you walk and support your back.
Blood is draining out of your tired feet and legs.
Your nervous system is getting a signal to slow down. Stress release and recovery time.
This position is great for sore legs, helps with digestion & circulation as well as thyroid support. If you suffer from insomnia try this before bed.

So … why not stop, breathe, relax and give it a go.
